For the next three weeks we deal with “bearing earthly fruit” and how dangerous false teaching becomes in this subject.

Here is what Paul has to say in verses 5-11 of chapter 3.

• The “put to death” is an instruction to BELIEVERS. It’s sanctification, NOT justification
• We are to put to death: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, greed, anger, wrath, malice, slander, abusive speech and lying (among others)
• God responds to sin with wrath in two ways: Hell and killing His Son
• IF you are in Christ, you are BEING RENEWED (ongoing)
